Voice MassageSpace for breath and sound - through the body.
What is Voice Massage?
Voice Massage is a form of treatment based on classical massage techniques, which treats the muscles involved in breathing and voice production. The aim of the treatment is to release tension in the body, support postural recovery and promote both physical and vocal well-being.
In many ways, the treatment is similar to classical massage, but focuses on the upper body, especially the breathing and vocal cords.
Who is Voice Massage suitable for?
Voice Massage is for anyone who wants to breathe and use their voice more freely and relaxed - whether you are a voice professional, a mover or simply caring for your body.
The treatment involves working the muscles in the body that are involved in breathing and producing sound. This can help to increase the endurance of the voice, improve breathing technique and release tension in the throat area, for example. A relaxed upper body supports speech, singing and daily living.

For singers, actors, teachers, presenters and others, the voice is an essential tool - and it's important to maintain it. Voice Massage offers an effective, anatomically based and individually targeted way to support voice use.
The treatment involves:
The muscles that regulate the function of the larynx, helping the voice to move freely and effortlessly.
The respiratory muscles, whose activation improves the body's ability to support the voice and enables more economical vocal production.
The muscles that act on the vocal cords, the release of which supports the resonance and endurance of the voice.
The muscles of the cheek, whose treatment reduces tension in the mouth and jaw, improving articulation and tone, among other things.
Many professionals use the treatment as part of their regular body care routine. Our regular clients include performers from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts, the Finnish National Opera and the National Theatre.

Releasing the respiratory muscles and opening the chest supports better posture, recovery and physical capacity. The treatment can help to increase breathing capacity, relieve muscle tension and restore flexibility to the body.
A specific protocol has been developed for wind instrument players, with a particular focus on the respiratory muscles and a precise treatment of the facial area.

A freer voice supports everyone's expression, interaction and self-confidence. Smooth breathing, in turn, supports general well-being, everyday activities and well-being.
Voice Massage is also an excellent way to recover from the stresses of everyday life. It brings relief from headaches, neck and shoulder tension, stress-related tension and bite problems. It's a gentle but effective way to open up space in the body - and for many, an important mid-week respite.
Content of treatment
The treatment starts with the patient lying face down, working on the back and rib cage muscles - key areas for breathing. This is followed by a move to the chest, which is often tense due to activities such as working at a computer screen or playing a musical instrument.
The treatment continues to the neck and neck area, where the muscles that cause the sensation of soreness are treated. Finally, the head and face area is treated, including the muscles of the biceps - if necessary also from inside the mouth. The treatment ends with a relaxing head massage.
The whole is a very precise, step-by-step and holistic upper body treatment, which is always adapted to the client's situation.
