OsteopathyExploring body balance and well-being with a personalised approach.
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that aims to restore balance, ease pain and support overall wellbeing. It is based on a broad knowledge of anatomy and physiology and an understanding of how the different systems of the body interact.
In osteopathy, treatment does not focus only on the symptoms, but seeks to identify the underlying causes. Therefore, in addition to treating the area of pain, the parts of the body associated with it are also examined. For example, knee pain may be caused by a dysfunction of the ankle or hip - or a nervous system overload.
Who is osteopathy suitable for?
Osteopathy is suitable for almost everyone - for pain management, recovery and overall wellbeing. You can also come to an appointment without acute problems.
Osteopathy can help, for example:
For neck and shoulder pain
For back and hip pain
For headaches and migraines
Shoulder range of motion restrictions
For tingling, numbness and nervous system overload
Body imbalances that affect movement or recovery
Content of treatment
Osteopathic treatment starts with a comprehensive initial interview and manual examination to look at body movement, function, postural patterns and possible origins of symptoms.
Based on the findings, the osteopath forms an individual working hypothesis on which the treatment plan is built.
The aim is not just to relieve the symptom, but to understand and influence why the symptom has occurred - and to prevent it from recurring.
The actual treatment may include, for example:
Soft tissue treatment (for muscles and fasciae)
Joint mobilisation and manipulation (so-called "clicking")
Nervously calming techniques
Functional and client movement exercises
If necessary, the treatment can also be supported by simple exercises that can be done at home to help the body recover, improve mobility and calm the nervous system.
Osteopathy in children
Osteopathy is also a safe and gentle treatment for children - from newborns to school-age children. The treatment can support the body's natural development and balance, as well as relieving problems such as tension, movement limitations, growing pains and sleep problems.
In babies, the treatment can ease postnatal problems such as restlessness, colic or infant feeding difficulties. In the later stages of growth, osteopathy supports the child's motor development and recovery from stress. Treatment is always carried out individually, using gentle, safe methods without manipulation of the joints.
